Jurassic Universe Chapter 17- Breach in the Aviary
By JPLover764
Based on The Films by Steven Spielberg, Joe Johnston, and Colin Trevorrow
Based on The Characters by Micheal Crichton

Far out on the western side of the island was Masrani flying his helicopter along side with two other men. One was siting in the co-pilot seat while the other man was siting in one of the back seats.

"So! Did you boys serve the Armed Forces?" Masrani shouted, trying to make his voice louder than the whirling helicopter blades.

"Afghanistan sir!" replied the co-pilot.

"What kind of missions where you there for!?" shouted Masrani.

But before anyone could reply, Vivian called Masrani through their radio.

"We have eyes on the target, east of the aviary." she said.

"Alright, look alive boys!" shouted Masrani to the other two men.

At last, one of the men spotted the Indominus in the jungle below heading straight for the aviary.

"10 o'clock! By the birdcage!" shouted the man in the back seat.

"The Indominus looked up at the helicopter and roared as she ran.

"Ready!? FIRE!" shouted Masrani.

The man in the back seat loaded up a large turret and began to fire. The bullets made small explosions when they hit the ground, but none of them hit the Indominus. The man kept firing but each shot missed by several feet. At last the Indominus smashed her head through the glass wall of the aviary, creating a massive hole in the side as she entered the giant bird cage. Vivian, Lowery, and Hoskins were all watching this on a security camera that had not been affected by Nedry's virus inside the Aviary. Pterosaurs inside flew in panic as the Indominus roared at them.

"No, no, no, no, no, no." muttered Lowery.

"Looks like the fox broke into the hen house." smiled Hoskins.

Lowery looked at Hoskins with an irritated glare.

Inside the Aviary, the Indominus continued to roar at the frightened Pterosaurs. There were three different species of them. The smallest was Dimorphodon. They had skinny large tails with a 4 foot wingspang and a small head filled with razor sharp teeth in their mouths. The second was the famous Pteranodon. These were large Pterosaurs with a ten foot wingspan, a large toothless but sharp pointy beak, and a large crest at the back of their heads. The third one was Cearadactylus. These were the largest of the three species with a 16 foot wingspan, a head like the Pteranodon but with no back head crest and their beaks were full of sharp teeth like the Dimorphodon.

Many of these creatures were resting on the large rocks in the Aviary, but many of them had started to fly around in a panic when the Indominus broke in. A few of them even flew out of the hole the Indominus made and flew out into the open to get away. Many of them were now flying around Masrani's helicopter.

"PULL UP! PULL UP! PULL UP!" shouted the man in the back seat.

Masrani tried to, but the Pterosaurs were now banging into the helicopter causing it to wobble that the man operating the turret lost his balance and fell out of the helicopter, luckly he managed to grab onto the landing gear. He tried to pull himself up but was suddenly swooped away and killed when a Cearadactylus flew down and grabbed him with its beak.

"OSCAR!" shouted the co-pilot. "NOOOOOOO!"

Suddenly, a Pteranodon accidentally smashed its beak through the front window of the helicopter. Its sharp beak stabbed the co-pilot in the heart and killed him instantly. Now it was just Masrani left alive in the helicopter, but it didn't seem like even he would last very long. Many more Pterosaurs had continued to bang and smash bits of the helicopter and this was causing Masrani to lose control. His helicopter was spewing black smoke from its engine and was slowly descending to the ground. At last, the helicopter smashed through the top of the aviary causing all the chopper's blades to break off completely. With no blades to keep it airborne, the damaged helicopter fell to the bottom of the aviary and blew up in a fiery explosion as it hit the ground. The park manager Masrani, was killed in the explosion.

The Indominus quickly fled the scene once helicopter had exploded. Everyone in the control room watched in horror.

"We have a breach in the aviary! I repeat we have a breach in the aviary!" said Vivian to her radio.

Hoskins smiled to himself.

At the aviary, the Pterosaurs still in the bird cage quickly all began to fly out of the new hole the helicopter had created. A few at a time only flew out at first but soon it looked liked hundreds of them were all flying out at once. To make matters worse, they all started to fly south, straight towards the main street. Meanwhile, Owen, Grant, Claire, the others, and the kids were almost back to the main street. Claire picked up a walkie-talkie and called Zara with it.

"Zara." she said. "I found the boys."

"Are they alright!?" asked Zara.

"They're fine." replied Claire. "We're heading back to the main street through the east gate by the petting zoo. Meet me there."

As soon as she hung up, Gray thought he noticed something in one of the car mirrors. He rolled down the window next to him and poked his head out and looked behind the car.

"Gray honey what are you doing?" asked Claire.

"I thought I saw something in the mirrors." he replied.

He then looked up and saw a Dimorphodon flying above them.

"Aunt Claire?" he asked. "Is your park supposed to have loose Dimorphodons?"

"What?" Claire asked confused.

Everyone began to look back, their mouths widened in horror. Flying above them what looked like to be a million Pterosaurs all flying straight towards the main street.

"Oh god." Ian whispered to himself.

"Go! Go! Go!" shouted Grant trying to urge Owen to drive faster.

Owen began to press on the gas pedal even harder to try and make them speed up. Eventually their van made it to the east gate. But it wouldn't open. Fortunately there were two men on duty at the top of the gate; quickly the group began to call out to them.

"Open up!" shouted Ellie.

"Let us in!" called Gray.

"Open the gate!" yelled Grant.

"Hey open up the gate!" yelled Ian.

"Let us in please!" called Sarah.

The two men on the gate just looked at each other.

"That’s a first." said the first guard.

Suddenly they heard a loud cawing sound. They looked up and saw the Pterosaurs all flying straight towards them. Their eyes began to widen in shock.

"That can't be good." said the second guard.

At the mainstreet, people were still annoyed and frustrated for being brought back in without an explanation. Just then, an announcement came on through the speakers around the park.

"Ladies and gentlemen, due to a breach in a containment, all visitors are advised to seek shelter immediately." it said.

A siren suddenly went off and people began to feel scared.

"Ladies and gentlemen, due to a breach in a containment, all visitors are advised to seek shelter immediately." the announcement said again.

"PTERODACTYLS!" screamed a woman.

Many people began to look up and soon they all saw the loose Pterosaurs as well. In no time at all, everyone began to panic and run around while screaming. One by one, the Pterosaurs began to swoop down and attack people. Everywhere, people were being bitten, pecked, clawed, and even swooped up. Even baby Dinosaurs at the petting zoo were being attacked. One Cearadactylus tried to pick up a baby Triceratops by its head, luckily despite the infant's size the baby Trike already weighed 200-300 pounds and was too heavy to be lifted up.

Meanwhile, Hoskins had gone up to the helicopter paddock and looked over the main street. He could see hundreds of Pterosaurs flying around above the lagoon and could hear the parks emergency siren sounding as well as hundreds of people screaming in terror from the mainstreet. He smiled to himself.

"This couldn't be any more perfect." he said to himself.

Down at the mainstreet, Owen, Claire, Grant and the others had finally gotten past the gate and were trying to find Zara.

"ZARA!" shouted Claire.

"CLAIRE!" said a familiar voice with a British accent.

Claire looked behind her and spotted Zara. The two of them quickly rushed over to each other.

"Claire, I've been looking everywhere for you!" said Zara. "Look I'm so sorry I lost the boy, I really am. It’s just that....."

"Zara, its okay its fine!" said Claire trying to calm down Zara. "Look, I need you to listen closely!"

"What is it!" replied Zara.

"I need you to-"

but before Claire got a chance to finish, a Pteranodon snatched Zara with its feet and lifted her away.

"ZARA!" screamed Claire.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Zara screamed.

The Pteranodon caried her up at least 50 feet in the air when suddenly a large Cearadactylus grabbed Zara's feet and tried to pull her away from the Pteranodon. The two of them accidentally dropped her but before Zara hit the hard concrete ground, another Cearadactylus swooped her up and carried her even higher before accidentally dropping her.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" she screamed as she fell.

*SPLASH*

Zara landed right in the middle of the lagoon, she began to swim to the surface when a couple of Pterosaurs that watched her fall in the water dove in after her. One Cearadactylus grabbed her with its beak and tried to fly away but kept dropping Zara back in the water. By the time it had gotten her fully out of the water, a Pteranodon flew over and tried to steal Zara from the Cearadactylus. The two Pterosaurs fought each other as the continued to dip poor Zara in the lagoon. Poor Zara was splashing frantically trying to shake them off. All the splashing and blood from Zara had attracted the attention of something huge in the water. The fight between the Pteranodon and the Cearadactylus was interrupted when the parks very own Mosasaurus leaped out of the water with its jaws wide open, snapping onto both Zara, and the two Pterosaurs!

Owen, Grant, and the others all watched in horror.

"My god!" said Grant in a state of shock.

The Mosasaurus plunged its head back in the water with its three victims in its mouth. As the group watched the large predator swim off into the lagoon, Ian finally broke their shocking stare.

"Come on! We have to get indoors!" he said.

"To the visitor center!" said Grant.

Quickly the group made a dash for the main building. They were half way there when a small Dimorphodon flew down and landed right on the back of Grant's head. Grant was so startled by this he lost his balance and fell. When he spun himself around, the Dimorphodon tried to lung out a bite at him but Grant grabbed its neck to keep its sharp teeth away from his head.

"GET OFF!" Grant yelled at the Dimorphodon. "GET OFF OF ME YOU OVERGROWN PIGEON!"

"DR. GRANT!" shouted Owen.

Quickly he pulled out his gun and was about to shoot the animal when they suddenly heard a gunshot and watched the Dimorphodon attacking Grant fall dead.

"Wow! Nice shot!" said Timmy looking at Owen.

"Uhhh kid, that wasn't me." Owen replied.

"Really?" asked Tim. "Then who-"

But before he could finish, there was another gun shot. This time a Pteranodon fell dead. The group looked towards the lagoon and saw a small group of men armed with guns shooting down the Pterosaurs.

"I was wondering where the security troops were!" said Owen.

Ellie ran over to Grant and helped him back on his feet. As soon as Grant was standing again, Ellie wrapped her arms around Grant's back and hugged him.

"You okay Alan?" she asked in a worried sick tone.

"Yea, I'm fine." replied Grant. "Ellie, you can let go of me."

"Sorry." said Ellie as she let go.

"Alright enough hugging!" said Claire. "We have to get the kids somewhere safe now come on!"

The group once more darted for the visitor center. They ran straight through the door, through the main room, and didn't stop until they reached the control room. They felt exhausted.

"CLAIRE!" shouted Lowery.

He and Vivian raced over to them.

"Are you all okay?" asked Vivian.

"We saw what happened." said Lowery. "We were worried sick about you guys!"

"We're fine." said Claire.

"How the hell did those birds even get this far!? Shouldn't their shocking implants have stopped them before they even gotten half way to the main street!?" said Owen.

"Dennis's virus took those out to I'm afraid." said Lowery. "They went out when you Grant, Ellie, Billy, Ian, and Sarah left when the mission to re-capture the Iindominus failed."

"You know, I keep wondering." said Gray. "What exactly IS this....... Indominus you guys and Aunt Claire keep mentioning?"

"Indominus rex." said Grant. "It’s a genetically modified hybrid your Aunt made to spice up attraction around here."

"So THAT'S why Gray and I didn't recognize it!" said Tim.

"By the way." said Lex. "You said something about a virus just a second ago. What was that about exactly?"

"Someone put a virus on our computers and it shut down half of our park's security power." replied Lowery.

"Sorry I asked." said Lex.

Far out on the Northeastern side of the island, five little green Compsognathus were on the hunt for food. They were chasing a bunch of flies when the insects led the little dinosaurs to something much bigger than them. It was a Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus, lying lifeless on the forest floor, the same one that had fought the Indominus, but had lost the battle. The Compys were running all around its body, snatching up the Flies drinking blood from the Spino's wounds with their little jaws. One Fly was buzzing around the large fallen predator's head. A Compy ran over and snatched it up with its teeth; the little dinosaur was just gulping down the Fly when it heard a loud snort.

All at once, the Compys all looked up. Two Compys standing on the Spino's back next to its sail felt the ground slowly moving up and down, followed by what sounded like breathing. The little Compsognathus standing by the giant predator's large Crocodile like head, looked at it with curiosity. Finally, the Compy saw the giant's closed eye slowly open.

The Spinosaurus was still alive!

Woohoo! 1 page down, 5 more to go w00t!! Shame we're coming up to the end soon, but hey, everything must come to an end eventually. Hope you all enjoy the Pterosaur attack, ecpecially since I added a creature from the original novel in this chapter ;) (Wink). The ending was a real pain in the ass to write, but I finally found a good way to end it off.

What!? OLD SPINOSAURUS IS ALIVE WHUT!? OOOOOOHHHHHHH, things are REALLY heating up now :o (Eek)!

Death Count:
Humans: 17
Dinosaurs: 21 (There was probably ALLOT more Pterosaur deaths here, but I'm only counting the four I mentioned that died, so just deal with it)
Total: 38
